Worship

As with most congregations, religious worship is the cornerstone of our congregation. Congregation Beth Israel provides a wide variety of worship opportunities to cater to the needs of our congregation. These include Weekday services, a Library Minyan, Tot Shabbat services, and several different styles of Shabbat services on Friday's and Saturday's.

On the first Friday of the month, we have a 6:00 PM "Simchat Shabbat" service (lots of singing) followed by a Shabbat Dinner provided by Sisterhood. At 8:00 PM, we have a Classic Reform service led by Rabbi LeBurkien. The second Friday of the month is an 8:00 PM service in which the Makheilah (adult choir) participates. The third Friday of the month we again have a 6:00 PM "Simchat Shabbat" service followed by a Potluck Dinner, and at 8:00 PM, we have a regular service. The last Friday of the month is a regular 8:00 PM service including the reading of the Torah.

Saturdays are when we have B'nei Mitzvah. Concurrently, we have a Library Minyan service (in the Library, no less) to provide an additional place for worship.  In addition, on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, we have a Tot Shabbat for toddlers through 5 years old.

On Wednesday's at 5:45 we have our Weekday Service in the chapel that lasts about 30 minutes and is a nice way to end your day.

2007 has been a year of change for us. In May, we started using the new Mishkan T'filah as our main prayer book. We also introduced several of the services above and are now working on reintroducing a Jr Congregation Service.

We hope that one (or more) of the services above will strike a chord and that you will come to worship with us.
