Jewish Fun for our 5th - 12th Graders!
Congregation Beth Israel is proud to offer Jewish Youth Group experiences for our kids in 5th through 12th grades. It is important to us that Jewish pre-teens and teens have a community that they can call their own. There are social events ... and social action events that will be scheduled through out the year. Shauna Goldstein is the Advisor for all three of our youth groups.

This year, in conjunction with parent volunteers and Rabbi Olshein, Shauna Goldstein will be supervising Club 5/6 (for our 5th and 6th graders) and Club 7/8 (for our 7th and 8th graders). We are planning a great lineup of events which will allow kids to have fun in a Jewish setting . . . yet give them a chance do some Mitzvot. We hope that they can learn that doing Mitzvot can be both rewarding AND fun.
To assist with each Club 5/6 and Club 7/8 event and to help plan events, our Youth Education Committee is seeking parent volunteers. Please contact Shauna Goldstein to let us know you are interested in helping make fun (and educational) Jewish memories for your children!
As the year goes on, check back to see photos and more information about what Club 5/6 and Club 7/8 are doing.

Are you in 9th-12th grade? Do you have a child or grandchild who is? Do you want your children to have fun with Jewish friends? All 9th-12th grade Jewish teenagers in the Austin area are eligible to join Austin Temple Teens! As we hope you know, participation in Jewish youth groups is one of the best ways for our teenagers to remain “connected to their Judaism” during their post-B’nai Mitzvah/pre-college years … ATT membership helps them meet lots of other Jewish kids, do Jewish things, and have fun, too! Rabbi Folberg will be working with ATT’s Youth Advisor, Shauna Goldstein, as well as ATT’s Board to help them plan and execute a meaningful and fun year for all its members! It looks to be a great year!
ATT is part of the National Federation of Temple Youth-Texas-Oklahoma Region (NFTY-TOR), a division of the Union for Reform Judaism. As such, ATT members participate in regional and national NFTY events and meet other Jewish teenagers from all over the country! CBI is committed to helping as many of our teenagers as possible participate in all of ATT’s activities … consequently, if the cost is the only thing keeping your teenager from participating, we will help you figure this out … please contact Shauna Goldstein or Rabbi Folberg to discuss scholarship possibilities.
Please SAVE THE FOLLOWING DATES for future regional/national NFTY events! (you must be an ATT member to attend these events)
September 4 - 7 - Summer Kallah at Greene Family Camp October 16 - 18 - Fall Conclave, Temple Emmanu-El in Houston January 29 - 31 - Winter Conclave at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston April 16 - 18 - Spring Kallah - Greene Family Camp.
If you have any questions about ATT or need a membership application, please e-mail ATT’s Advisor, Shauna Goldstein. For more information about ATT, you can also email the ATT Board.
