Our Torah Study Discussions are open to all. We invite members and nonmembers, Jews and non-Jews, regulars and new-comers, scholars and students of all levels. We are proud to welcome you to our intergenerational weekly discussion group. Often, we are joined by parents bringing teens during their preparation for becoming bar and bat mitzah. No Hebrew language is required. There is no fee to participate in this weekly discussion.
Rabbi Folberg and Rabbi Olshein usually lead our Torah Study Discussions. Frequently, we also welcome guest leaders, such as: our synagogue's educator, Rabbi Lippe, and UT Hillel Director, Rabbi David Komerofsky. Most often, our discussions focus on the lessons from the weekly Torah portion. We also study the Haftarah portion or current events as they are linked to the Torah portion. There is no homework. Texts will be provided by the leader each week. While you are never required to prepare an assignment for Torah study, if you are interested in studying more on your own, please use the links below to discover the weekly portions on your own.
