Providing Jewish Education to our children and teens is integral to the mission of our congregation.  Congregation Beth Israel holds the education of our youth in the highest regard.  All aspects of our congregation - physically and spiritually - illustrate the importance of young Jews to the life of our congregation.

We strive to welcome all kinds of students to our education programs.  We hope you and your family will find meaningful Jewish educational opportunities here at CBI that fit your ages, your schedules, and your interests.  We look forward to learning with you.

Thank you to all of you who have already registered for Youth Education courses at CBI

We are looking forward to another fantastic year of learning and celebrating with you.  Each of you brings so much to our community.  We look forward to welcoming you back to your Jewish home away from home.

This year we are trying to save trees, paper, as well as our members’ time by putting even more of our registration process onto the internet.  We hope that our improved registration process will be more user-friendly as well as more eco-friendly.

Please keep an eye on your email and your mailbox for news and updates from CBI.

We look forward to celebrating with you at the High Holy Days!

L'Shanah Tovah - We wish everyone a sweet, safe, and peaceful New Year.

Disaster Relief
Tornadoes in Southeast U.S.

Tornado damage

Donate

A series of deadly tornadoes recently swept across the Southeast, killing hundreds and leaving thousands homeless. The URJ is accepting donations for tornado relief efforts and will work closely with our congregations in the affected region to assure that funds are used where they are needed most.

Donations can be made online to the URJ Disaster Relief Fund. Checks can be sent to the Union for Reform Judaism (Attn: Tornado Relief), 633 Third Ave., New York, NY 10017. Other than direct expenses (such as credit card fees), the URJ takes no administrative overhead from relief funds.

We are not currently aware of needs for volunteers, however the Jewish Federation of Birmingham recommends that those interested in volunteering register with Hands on Birmingham.
