Brian’s roots at CBI are deep. His great-grandfather Joe Koen was president of the congregation for 44 years, his grandfather Bill Koen was president, and his mother Carolyn Turner was the first female president of CBI. Brian was a Bar Mitzvah at CBI and was confirmed at CBI. Brian went to Texas A&M and after working at First City Bank in Austin, went back to law school. Brian is currently a musician and plays regularly in Austin and has a solo law practice emphasizing commercial litigation and mediation. Brian and his beautiful and talented wife Haddy have 6 children.

Adam Sadovsky moved to Austin in 1996 from San Antonio. He was a restaurant manager for Sea Island for many years until it closed its Austin location. Loving Austin as much as he does, he didn’t want to move back to San Antonio, so he got is real estate license and has been a Realtor, working with Keller Williams Realty, since 2005. Adam has been a member of CBI since 2005, and has served as Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer.

Julie was born and raised in Corpus Christi, living there until moving to Austin in 2008. She is a graduate of the University of Texas, where she grew to love Austin. After college, Julie went to law school at the University of Houston, and practiced law and mediated for nearly 20 years. Julie is currently back in school, pursuing a Masters in Counseling at Texas State, with plans to graduate in May 2012. Julie was active in her congregation in Corpus Christi, serving on the board in various positions for over 15 years. She has been married to her husband Jeff, a corporate lawyer for 19 years, and her son Ben, a vocal major at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy, currently attends religious school, is a member of ATT, and celebrated his bar mitzvah at CBI in 2010.

Vivian returned to Austin in 1987 after completing George Washington University School of Law in Washington, D.C. She currently works jointly with her husband in various investment and real estate development ventures, most notably developing The Commons at Seashell, a vacation townhome community on the Texas Coast in Port Aransas. She also provides "food coaching" for people dealing with food allergies or dietary changes, and assists with recipe modifications and recipe development. She and her husband of 31 years, Jimi, are charter members in what may be Austin’s longest running dinner group, which has been meeting monthly for more than 20 years. She has two daughters. Rachel will be in the 11th grade at LASA. Mimi, a CDC alum, will be in 4th grade at Travis Heights Elementary. Vivian has served on several CBI committees including the Caring Community Committee, the Executive Director search committee, the Cantor search committee, and the Assistant Rabbi search committee.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Sara began her career at Condé Nast Publications. She currently works in the education division of a local publisher in the area of literature analysis. Sara has also enjoyed handling public relations for several nonprofit organizations, including Shakespeare Festival of Dallas and Mobile Opera. She studied creative writing at the Callenwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta and has published articles on travel and fine arts. Sara is married to attorney Mitch Block and after the wonderful b'nei mitzvah of their twins Allen and Whitney this year, she is happy to be of service to CBI.

A Dallas escapee, Laura joined CBI in 1990 and has been a member for 20 years. Over the years she has been a member of the BJE, the CDC Board, and the Board of Trustees. From 2006 to 2007, Laura was VP of Education and in 2008-2009 she was the congregation's Secretary. She has served on multiple search committees. Laura's daughter Lele is a graduate of the CDC and many of Lele's best friends are CDC graduates. Like so many other congregants, Laura's closest friends are members of CBI, some of the friends were CDC parents and some were met while serving on the Board of Trustees. She and Lele are proof that belonging to Beth Israel provides a spiritual home and personal connections that last a lifetime.

Leslie hails from South Florida and migrated to Austin in 1996. Within weeks of her arrival, she met Rob, whom she married in 2000. CBI members since 2000, they are the very proud parents of daughter Aleah, a 2009 CDC graduate.
Leslie served as the House and Grounds chairperson on the CDC board from 2004 – 2009. She also served as the chairperson of the CBI Green Team and remains passionate about "all things Green" both at home and at CBI. Leslie is an alumna of the CBI Leadership Development Program, class of 2007.
Leslie is the owner of Found Space Organizing, a professional organizing company committed to helping busy men and women reduce clutter and improve the flow in their homes and offices. She has a background in crisis project management and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Leslie is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and serves as the Director of Program Development for the Austin NAPO chapter. She is also a trained provider for "NAPO in the Schools", a community outreach program designed to teach basic organizing principles in the classroom.

I was born on October 01,1957 and have been living and working in Austin since 1978. I married my wife Leslie Wechter 19 years ago and we have been members of CBI for the past 18 years and I hope for many more years to come. Our son Gabriel Nejad who is 16 became a Bar Mitzvah in April 2007 and was confirmed on May 22, 2010, he is traveling to Israel and Eastern Europe with NFTY for 5 weeks on June 21. I have attended UT and earned a B.S degree in Computer Science. We are huge Longhorn fans!!!!!!! I have been working as a Business Consultant for the Texas Rehab Services for the past 15 years. I just recently completed the CBI Leadership Development Program, served as Assistant Treasurer, and am very excited to have the opportunity to serve as Treasurer.

Kathy moved to Austin in December of 1999 from Dallas. She and her husband Rich are the parents of 3 sons. Jeffrey will be a senior at LASA, Jake will be a sophomore at Anderson, and Jared will be in the 8th grade at Chaparral Star Academy. Jeffrey and Jake have been very active with ATT and Kathy was the Winter Conclave Chair and has remained active with youth programming. The Lewis family has been members of CBI since last August.
