On October 31, 2021, a fire raged at Congregation Beth Israel. Beth Israel is the oldest Reform Jewish house of worship in Austin, built in 1876 and chartered by the state of Texas in 1879. The fire was an anti-semitic attack set by an arsonist in hopes of destroying this Jewish landmark of worship. Thank goodness a passerby saw the fire, called the Austin Fire Department, and the fire was swiftly extinguished.  Faith leaders of Austin showed support of the Jewish community after the fire, and donations came in from all over the world, but there is still much work to be done to reconstruct the sanctuary due to smoke damage.
One of our cherished congregants had a dream about how to raise some of the necessary funds for the renovation, which is how this event came to be.

“The Little Things You Do Together” is a song by Stephen Sondheim; the brilliant lyricist and composer of COMPANY, and a multitude of other stories set to music.
Join us to witness a marriage of Sondheim to the spiritual leaders of congregation Beth Israel along with seasoned performers Katherine Altobello, Sue Bilich, Tim O’Brien, Jeffrey Jones Regona, and Gil Zilkha. The performance is directed by one of Austin’s finest Musical Theater directors, Adam Roberts.

A donation of $72 per person is being asked for attendees both in-person and for those wishing to livestream the event. Remember, it takes a village working together!
