Hello CBI Community. 

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Sera Bonds. 

I am a: mother, southerner, Jew, activist, public health devotee, surfer, sci-fi geek, founder, wanderer, community organizer, lover of naps and swimming holes, rainmaker (i.e. fundraiser), daughter, sister, friend, and wife. Not always in that order, of course. 

And I am currently serving as the Interim Executive Director for CBI. I am deeply humbled by the trust that your Board and staff continue to show me as I do what I can to care for and support these incredible individuals who steward CBI's legacy and impact. 

During my time here with you all in this role I am focusing my efforts on supporting the professional and clergy teams and by updating the systems that sustain them at CBI. This includes listening to the staff to hear where they are struggling so that I can help to champion them towards success as well as tending to the garden of administrative tasks like updating job descriptions, organizational charts, and HR policies. 

As a trauma-informed facilitator and trainer, I am doing what I can to hold intentional space for the courage, commitment, and compassion that this CBI team has in spades so that they can grow. The ongoing threats to Jewish communities in Texas by those who would see us silenced and gone will not keep us from caring for each other and not just surviving, but thriving. It is an honor to be with you in this work.
