Shabbat Services

Friday Night Erev Shabbat Services

We offer our contemporary, welcoming services in our Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. every Friday of the month. These services are led by Rabbi Brian Leiken, Rabbi Kelly Levy, and Cantorial Solist Sarah Avner. During this service, we strive for a balance between Hebrew and English prayers and invite congregational singing and participation throughout.

Children are invited up to the bimah every Friday night to share in the Kiddush and then remain on the bimah for a blessing given by the Rabbis. Each week, Rabbi Leiken or Rabbi Levy delivers a short sermon/d’var Torah designed to teach, connect, and inspire.  Cantorial Soloist Sarah Avner provides a mix of familiar and modern music to enhance Shabbat worship.
 

Family Service

On the first Saturday of each month (Nov-May), we offer a Family Service, at 9:00 a.m.  The Family Service is for families with young children in kinder through 2nd grades and their siblings. It offers a fun and inviting way to celebrate Shabbat.
 

Saturday Morning Services

Our weekly Shabbat morning services begin at 10:30 a.m., immediately following Torah Study which begins at 9:00 a.m. Our Shabbat morning services are participatory and inclusive and we are fortunate to have many congregants who participate in leading worship and reading from the Torah.

On some Saturday mornings, a student celebrating becoming a B'nei Mitzvah will assist with leading worship and reading from the Torah. However, our worship is always intended to be a community celebration of Shabbat and at least one Aliyah is reserved for members of the community not related to the student.

When there is no B'nei Mitzvah on a Saturday morning, our service takes place in the more relaxed surroundings of our chapel and is led by one of our many skilled lay leaders.
